About Me
A little about me----
It was at UMHB that I met my husband, Shane. We married in 1993 and settled into the central Texas area. We have three children. Grace (a teacher) is married to Quent and Ethan is starting his first year in college. We also have a fabulous goldendoodle named Bella and a beautiful golden retriever named Goose. My husband is the pastor of Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Reno, TX.
I taught music for 1 year in Temple and 5 years in Killeen. I decided I wanted to teach in the general education classroom. I taught 2nd grade in Killeen for 6 years. I have been a music teacher, 2nd and 3rd grade teacher, dyslexia specialist, gifted/talented specialist, 504 coordinator and reading specialist. In May of 2024, I retired from 17 years in Springtown ISD and 29 years in public education. I am currently looking to start a second career.
I enjoy reading, computing, singing, writing, playing the piano and doing church activities! I love spending time with my family. In addition to teaching, I have written curriculum for LifeWay, written magazine articles, authored a book for schools and a book for children.
